Ruben Cirugeda is a visual artist based in Melbourne, Australia.
A life spent drawing, painting and devoted to studying visual art. Since childhood attending formal classes to paint with oils, Ruben has continued his passionate appreciation with oils and enjoys working with a wide variety of media. Much of his focus is towards contemporary portraiture on large-sized canvases. Ruben’s style often combines a traditionalist approach with his own unique interpretation. Often a marriage of his two passions, classic traditionalist with abstraction and today’s popular culture.
Until recently Ruben has spent twenty years as a creative in the advertising industry. He began his career as an art director in some of the Australia’s top agencies - DDB, Clemenger BBDO and M&C Saatchi. Art has always been his true passion and now dedicates himself fully towards his pursuits in the arts.
